End of Year productions at Bradford Playhouse

Last week saw three days of performances at the Bradford Playhouse.

Last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday saw our annual three-day takeover of the iconic Bradford Playhouse. Every child in school performed on the stage, with each performance supported by a professional lighting and stage director, front-of-house staff and stewards - a real-life acting experience for all of our pupils.

Reception class and KS1

This performance was written by the teaching staff and was a real celebration of the whole curriculum. We followed the Gingerbread man on a journey around the EYFS and KS1 curriculum, including a trip to India, a plane ride with Amelia Earhart, a boat ride with Mr Gumpy and a trip to the Victorian seaside! The children danced, sang and acted beautifully and treated us to a real showcase of their talents. The show lasted over an hour and the children (some of them just 4 years old) concentrated throughout remembering their lines and when to say them and danced and sang their hearts out! Their smiles lit up the stage, and we were all so proud of them.

KS2 (Years 3, 4 & 5)

This performance was also written by the KS2 teachers and brought together all the highlights from the curriculum this year. We were treated to amazing singing, dancing, acting and even a ukulele performance. As the performance unfolded, we followed a news reporting team meeting characters from various aspects of the curriculum, including fishermen debating the pros and cons of bottom trawling, weather reporters and a presentation about puberty. Everyone performed brilliantly, and we were so proud of them and all that they achieved.

Year 6

Thursday was the turn of Year 6 - they performed Cinderella Rockerfella! It was brilliant! The children sang, acted and danced brilliantly. A particular highlight was definitely the solo performances. There wasn't a dry eye in the house! It was a great way to lower the final curtain on yet another year of performances at the best theatre in Bradford!

Thank you so much to all of the Bradford Playhouse staff for their warm welcome each day and all of their help and support in making this such an memorable experience for all of our children.
