HoliOn Wednesday 4th March, we will be celebrating Holi (the Hindu Festival of Colour). As part of the celebrations, we will be throwing coloured powder at each other and in the air. The children will need to wear a white or light-coloured top and old trousers (of any colour). The children will be outside, so a long-sleeved top would be better. All the colours say they are washable, but please send your child in their old clothes. |
Community IftarIt is not too late to sign up for our community Iftar. The Lord Mayor and Mayoress will be attending. Date: Wednesday 4th March 2026 Time: Arrival from 5:15 p.m. to break the fast at 5.54 p.m. (predicted) Location: Bottom hall Please bring your own prayer mat. There will be a Zakat and Fitrana collection on the night which we will donate to Islamic Relief. Dates, fruit and water will be available to open the fast, and we will provide some food to share after prayers. However, we encourage everyone attending to bring a dish to share with our community. NO NUTS. (Please could you label the common allergens – Eggs/Flour/Fish/Dairy and also anything that contains meat or meat products, as we do have some children with food allergens and intolerances who we need to keep safe. Anyone attending with a food allergy or intolerance should see Miss Garner on the night). This event is open to all of our families – please feel free to bring older/younger siblings and other family members. If you would like to attend this special event, please email Mrs Spafford helen.spafford@coopacademies.co.uk by Monday 2nd March. Any problems, please speak to Mrs Spafford or Miss Garner. |
Careers Week
We will be holding a Careers Week within school starting on Monday 9th March and running to Friday 13th March.
The week will be full of career related activities which will raise the aspirations of our children, challenging them to aim high and dream big, thinking about what job they might like to do in the future.
Throughout the week we will be bringing businesses, industry and education together. These types of positive encounters will provide opportunities that enable our children to grow in their knowledge and confidence, equipping them to pursue their dream job in the future.
On the 9th March, children will be asked to come dressed for the day in the clothing of their ‘Dream Job'. It would be amazing to see your children dressed up as what they want to be when they are older.
The week will finish on Friday 13th March with a special celebration assembly focusing on the work done during the week. A Careers Showcase will then follow the Celebration Assembly to which you are all invited.
I’m sure it will be a fun and inspiring week,
Kindest Regards
Mr Waddington.

Oxford Owl
Mrs Lovick has been checking homework completed on Oxford Owl, there are a number of children who haven’t accessed at all in February. Please ensure you give your child the opportunity to access this on a regular basis. Helping your child to read is one of the most important life skills you can give them.

Milk Money
Our supplier is Cool Milk. If you wish to register your child for milk, please go to their website: www.coolmilk.com.
Valuable Items
If your child brings their phone, house keys, bus pass, and wears a smart watch, they need to hand them into the office where the items will be locked away.
Your child will then need to collect them at the end of the day.
Reporting your child absent
This year we will once again be having a big push on attendance and punctuality. The children are expected in school every day. Children are not allowed to take leave from school. If you do take your child out of school, then you may be prosecuted and fined £80 per child per parent. In some cases, you could be fined £2,500 per child per parent and receive a criminal record.
Mrs. Spafford and Mrs. Khambhaita will be monitoring all children and if they have any concerns regarding a child’s attendance or punctuality, the parents will be invited to a meeting.
If your child is going to be absent from school, please do not ring the school number but ring or send a text to 07938742883.
If we have not received a reason for your child’s absence, we will be contacting you from this number. If we do not receive any reason, then a home visit will be made.
