Friends of Penny Oaks
There was a meeting of the Friends of Penny Oaks to discuss the Christmas Fair yesterday. Mrs Lovick and Miss Garner would like to thank the three families who attended. We will be holding another meeting in the coming weeks and would like to encourage as many of you to attend as possible. Watch this space for more details.
Parent Consultations
These will be held the week beginning 1st December. You should have received your appointments today. If the time you have been allocated is inconvenient, then please speak to Mrs. Spafford.
Adverse Weather
The school will endeavour to remain open in adverse weather conditions. However, if we need to close the school, you will be notified as early as possible via the Bradford Schools Online website, the school’s website, by email and the Arbor App. Please ensure we have current email addresses and mobile numbers.
Warm Clothing
Please ensure that you send your child/children to school with coats, hats, scarves, gloves etc. If your child comes to school in wellies, please ensure they bring a change of shoes to school. Make sure all items have your child’s name in them.
Nursery Parents
Nursery parents, it has come to that time of year for applications for Reception Class September 2026. Please read the information pack you will have received. Any problems, please speak to Mrs. Spafford.
Labelling Uniform
We have had a number of children who have lost items of their uniform, coats etc. but do not have their names in the items. It is extremely difficult for staff to find uniforms if the items are not labelled with your child’s name.

Reception children need to keep their PE kit in school.
Reminder: Year 5 will begin their swimming lessons tomorrow. They will need to bring their swimming costume and towel into school every Tuesday. If your child forgets their swimming kit phone calls will be made.
Milk Money
Our supplier is Cool Milk. If you wish to register your child for milk, please go to their website: www.coolmilk.com.
Valuable Items
If your child brings their phone, house keys, bus pass, and wears a smart watch, they need to hand them into the office where the items will be locked away.
Your child will then need to collect them at the end of the day.
Reporting your child absent
This year we will once again be having a big push on attendance and punctuality. The children are expected in school every day. Children are not allowed to take leave from school. If you do take your child out of school, then you may be prosecuted and fined £80 per child per parent. In some cases, you could be fined £2,500 per child per parent and receive a criminal record.
Mrs. Spafford and Mrs. Khambhaita will be monitoring all children and if they have any concerns regarding a child’s attendance or punctuality, the parents will be invited to a meeting.
If your child is going to be absent from school, please do not ring the school number but ring or send a text to 07938742883.
If we have not received a reason for your child’s absence, we will be contacting you from this number. If we do not receive any reason, then a home visit will be made.
