Penny Post

our latest newsletter

The school will be closed on Monday 10th November for staff training.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

we will remember them.

Children in Need

On Friday 14th November we are raising money for Children in Need. Children can come into school in their own clothing (preferably something spotty, as this is the theme) along with a small donation of £1.00. We will also be selling Children in Need merchandise such as pens, pins and bracelets. All the money raised will help children across the UK struggling with their mental health and wellbeing and help to form better relationships.

We will also be holding a Coffee Morning between 9.00 – 10.00.

We are asking parents to make a donation on entry.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Poppy Appeal

Thank you to all the families who have bought items from the Poppy Appeal. These will also be on sale next week. Once we have been informed by The Royal British Legion the amount raised, we will let you know.

Year 5 & 6 Parents Reminder:

We would like to remind parents of children who walk home on their own that they will not be allowed to walk home on their own after any afterschool clubs.

Friends of Penny Oaks

Reception children need to keep their PE kit in school.

Milk Money

Our supplier is Cool Milk.  If you wish to register your child for milk, please go to their website: www.coolmilk.com.

Valuable Items

If your child brings their phone, house keys, bus pass, and wears a smart watch, they need to hand them into the office where the items will be locked away.

Your child will then need to collect them at the end of the day.

Reporting your child absent

This year we will once again be having a big push on attendance and punctuality. The children are expected in school every day. Children are not allowed to take leave from school. If you do take your child out of school, then you may be prosecuted and fined £80 per child per parent. In some cases, you could be fined £2,500 per child per parent and receive a criminal record.

Mrs. Spafford and Mrs. Khambhaita will be monitoring all children and if they have any concerns regarding a child’s attendance or punctuality, the parents will be invited to a meeting.

If your child is going to be absent from school, please do not ring the school number but ring or send a text to 07938742883.

If we have not received a reason for your child’s absence, we will be contacting you from this number.  If we do not receive any reason, then a home visit will be made.
