Year 6 Trip to London

On Monday 2nd February, our Year 6 children travelled down to London for a tour of the Houses of Parliament and a trip on the London Eye.

After an early start from Forster Square Train Station, they set off for the capital.  The children were very excited – for most of them, this was their first time in London.  After arriving in London, they took the Tube to Westminster, where they had a guided tour around the Houses of Parliament.

After lunch, they went on the London Eye from where they could see Central London from up high!  They were able to spot Buckingham Palace, the Shard and plenty more iconic buildings.

After their exciting day, it was back to Bradford after having pizza for tea.

Brilliant Club Graduation

Over this term, a group of Yr. 5 & Yr. 6 pupils have been working with a PhD Tutor as part of the Brilliant Club.  They all worked hard to complete a 1000-word assignment answering the question “What are our human rights?”

On Wednesday 3rd February, they visited Leeds University where they had a tour around the university, met university students and took part in their Brilliant Club graduation.

Well done for all your hard work!

Milk Money

Our supplier is Cool Milk.  If you wish to register your child for milk, please go to their website: www.coolmilk.com.

Valuable Items

If your child brings their phone, house keys, bus pass, and wears a smart watch, they need to hand them into the office where the items will be locked away.

Your child will then need to collect them at the end of the day.

Reporting your child absent

This year we will once again be having a big push on attendance and punctuality. The children are expected in school every day. Children are not allowed to take leave from school. If you do take your child out of school, then you may be prosecuted and fined £80 per child per parent. In some cases, you could be fined £2,500 per child per parent and receive a criminal record.

Mrs. Spafford and Mrs. Khambhaita will be monitoring all children and if they have any concerns regarding a child’s attendance or punctuality, the parents will be invited to a meeting.

If your child is going to be absent from school, please do not ring the school number but ring or send a text to 07938742883.

If we have not received a reason for your child’s absence, we will be contacting you from this number.  If we do not receive any reason, then a home visit will be made.
